NRI Open Plot & Land Visit Checklist

This guide is for general planning and coordination. Requirements differ by authority, airline, professional body and destination country.

1. Confirm the exact location before the visit

Share maps, survey references, nearby landmarks and any old photos. Do not rely only on a verbal description of the plot.

2. Ask for dated, wide-angle visuals

Request photos and video from the approach road, each visible boundary and the surrounding area. Dated visuals make future comparisons easier.

3. Record visible changes

New construction nearby, dumped material, fencing damage, access-road changes or signs of occupation should be documented rather than interpreted.

4. Use professionals for technical conclusions

Boundary verification, title checks, encroachment conclusions and measurements should be handled by surveyors, advocates or other qualified professionals.

5. Keep a repeatable record

If the property is vacant, periodic visits using a similar photo sequence can help you notice change over time.
